The ability to refine which diagram you land on depends on which diagram you are in when you zoom. Consider the ability to navigate horizontally on the same level too (e.g. for system landscape diagrams). This also needs to know where to go back when you zoom out—ideally, this is done separately so that zooming back out is easier to understand based on where you came from.

Would be nice to explore the possibilities to enhance Icepanel's "connection to reality" by allowing linking objects to cloud provider's infra-as-code toolsets, similar to how Holori.io and Brainboard.io are doing it for their services. For example, linking a lambda object at component level to an AWS resource (e.g. a Construct, Stack or Application defined in Cloud Formation), similar to how it is currently possible to link an object to a VCS repository, folder or file in a repo. Even better would be if it was possible to continuously feed data into Icepanel from cloud provider's IaC toolset into a "data curation area" where Icepanel users can link / create new objects in Icepanel as changes occur in reality. Also, a user-defined meta model mapping IaC components to Icepanel objects would potentially enable automation of linking / creating / deleting objects in Icepanel, should it be desired. This kind of linking would improve Icepanel's relevance and maintain Icepanel's connection to reality over time.

The ability to add non-model visuals to the diagram to explain parts. Adding annotation/labels to group things visually.

Hi icePanel team, A feature that would greatly improve workflow is the ability to copy and paste items, especially for components with specific technologies or configurations. Use Case Example: When designing a system, it’s common to reuse components with the same structure but different names or minor modifications. Instead of recreating a component and reassigning its properties or technologies, users could copy an existing component, paste it, and make the necessary changes (e.g., renaming or adjusting attributes). Allow connection curves and points to be controlled. Like draw.io (but better). Even small controls would help with overlap issues.
